What You Need To Know About CRF Test

As we move closer to the College Relief Fund (CRF) Aptitude Test, our support lines have been flooded with questions from applicants seeking clarity on the upcoming test procedures, allowed tools, and final selection guidelines.
This comprehensive post addresses the most common questions to help you prepare confidently and avoid costly mistakes during the test.
Please note: Certain aspects of the test structure and scoring system are intentionally undisclosed to protect the integrity of the examination and discourage malpractice attempts
🎯 About the CRF Aptitude Test
The CRF Aptitude Test is a fully online, e-proctored examination accessible via most modern browsers. It is designed to assess applicants fairly and transparently based on merit, reasoning ability, and financial literacy through the Naira & Sense Series.
We recommend using the Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox browser for the best test experience on both desktop and mobile.
Test Duration: 20 minutes
Total Questions: 40 multiple-choice questions
Categories:
- Use of English
- Quantitative Reasoning
- Current Affairs
- General Knowledge
- Naira & Sense (financial literacy & economic awareness)
Each test randomly pulls 4 out of the 5 categories above.
⚙️ E-Proctoring and Security
The CRF Aptitude Test is powered by an advanced AI-based proctoring system that monitors user activity in real-time to detect and prevent cheating.
This includes analyzing browser activity, device access logs, camera/microphone feeds, and other indicators of misconduct.
⚠️ Important:
Ensure to take the PRACTICE TEST several times — even on the test day — to confirm that your device, network, and browser are fully compatible with the testing system.
🔢 1. Use of Calculators
✅ Allowed: Physical calculators
❌ Not Allowed: Calculator apps, phone tools, or on-screen widgets.
To maintain fairness, only standalone calculators may be used during the test.
🚫 2. Leaving the Test Screen
Leaving the test window is strictly prohibited and will result in an automatic zero score.
The following actions count as leaving the screen:
On a Computer:
- Clicking outside the test window or switching browser tabs.
- Using multiple monitors or minimized screens.
- Opening overlay apps (including On-Screen Keyboard).
On a Mobile Device:
- Receiving or answering calls during the test.
- Entering the multi-app switcher.
- Activating floating apps, screenshots, or screen recorders.
- Using “night mode” or screen-dimming apps that alter the display.
Tip: Keep your phone on Do Not Disturb and close background apps before starting.
🎥 3. Device Access Permissions
The CRF testing system will request permission to access your camera, microphone, and location. These are required for e-proctoring and identity verification.
When prompted by your browser, click “Allow” for all permissions.
Failure to grant access may cause your test to terminate automatically with a zero score.
📱 4. Multiple Devices or Unauthorized Help
Candidates are required to take the test alone and on one device only.
Any indication of multiple active sessions, background devices, or external help will be flagged by the system as malpractice.
Searching online for answers, group discussions, or screen-sharing during the test will lead to disqualification.
⏰ 5. Test Timing and Submission
Your test will automatically submit once the 20-minute timer elapses.
However, we recommend submitting manually once you’re confident of your answers.
Note that connection interruptions can slightly alter your test time display — this reflects synchronization delays between your browser and the CRF servers.
💡 Tip: The smoother your test session, the faster your submission logs will upload and confirm completion. Multiple suspicious activities will generate longer logs, potentially delaying your result validation.
📊 6. Test Results
While the system is capable of instant scoring, CRF deliberately delays result publication to perform integrity and security audits.
This ensures no compromised results are displayed before final verification.
Once approved, all scores will be visible on your Aptitude Test Portal via your dashboard.
🧾 About the Final Selection
Selection for the College Relief Fund Scholarship is not solely based on test scores. The final stage combines:
- Application Information (Registration & Enrollment)
- Document Verification (admission letters, ID cards, results)
- Aptitude Test Performance
- Financial Need Assessment
Each factor contributes to a point-based internal system, available only to CRF management and funding partners to maintain transparency.
⚠️ Important:
Discrepancies in details (such as mismatched names on bank accounts or documents) may lead to disqualification — even after the test.
There is no fixed cutoff mark, but higher test scores improve your overall ranking in the selection matrix.
💡 Pro Tips for Test Day Success
- ✅ Take the Practice Test on the same device and browser you’ll use for the real test.
- ✅ Read all Naira & Sense Series articles — several test questions come from them.
- ✅ Sit in a quiet, well-lit environment with stable internet.
- ✅ Keep your CRF Dashboard open for real-time alerts and updates.
📜 Final Words
The College Relief Fund remains dedicated to a fair, transparent, and merit-based scholarship process. The Aptitude Test is designed not just to assess academic ability but also financial literacy and ethical behavior.
Applicants are advised to prepare seriously, follow the rules, and avoid any temptation to cheat. Every genuine effort counts — and your integrity could make the difference.
Once test results are validated, successful applicants will move into the disbursement phase, with scholarship awards of up to ₦400,000 to support tuition and living expenses.

Thank you for this article. 👍
Thanks for these informations and Up goes the CRF.
Thanks so much for the article. Please what if I’m on the verge of finishing my test, a call entered my phone, can that also disqualify me?
Yes it can, just make sure you block your contacts from calling you.
Please I can’t login anymore. I misplaced my login details and all efforts to retrieve that proved abortive
Please I didn’t understand this part of the information dropped this morning..
“Using night-mood / screen-protection apps that deem the mobile phone screen”.
Please can anyone help clarify🙏
It means using of eye care mode that reduces your screen brightness isn’t allowed.
I’m not sure myself. But maybe they’re trying to say that during the test, things like battery saver, eye care etc, should be turned off.
Hello Courage,
Some phones come with built-in options like “Eye care” (i.e to further reduce the screen brightness so as not to cause or have any effect on the user when you’re exposed to your device for a long period of time. In other words, protection against “Blue light effects”.
Also there are some apps you can download from playstore or iOS e.g Video recorders etc, that when launched their icons can display over other apps (as floating apps)…
In summary, ANYTHING EXTERNAL should not be allowed to be active during the day of your CRF TEST.
I do hope you find this helpful. ENJOY !

How do one avoid the issue with an incoming call during the aptitude test
Before you begin the test, kindly put on your phone to DND @ charity amaka
You restrict incoming call from disrupting your connection, check your phone on how to restrict call from coming in
This is really helpful, thank you
Thanks for this piece of information.🙏
I chose my test date without uploading my document and ever since then I could not upload my documents.. I don’t know what to do.. urgent reply pls
Fully guided, I promise to abide by the Rule and Regulations. God bless CRF.
Please someone should help me
When is the date for the examination?
Check your dashboard
You’re supposed to have chosen your date.
Thank you so much for the information. I will try to avoid any distractions or calls of any kind while I’m on the test cus I noticed I usually have a reduced mark or the Time stops counting while taking the practice test whenever a call comes in.
Someone’s asked this in the comments already but I just want to emphasize: how does one go about avoiding phone calls during the test?
Thanks for the information though, but I really need an answer to the question.
i think it’s better to use a hotspot or ask someone to hotspot you with their phn…that way even if the prsn gets a call it wont affect ur TEST it will register as lost network but will continue after the call has been ended the only downside to this is the time that’s counting.
I think you should use a laptop.
Thank you CRF, this is very helpful.
Our hopes are HIGH!
Thanks CRF TEAM for this review.
I didn’t know about the things counted as “LEAVING THE TEST SCREEN” on device…
Will take note of it.
ENJOY !
Thanks for the article. What if there are incoming notifications such as from Youtube, Facebook, message or news that appear on the top side of the screen during the aptitude test, will this cause disqualification? How can they be controlled?
Thank u so much CRF.
U re indeed helping the students.
Please what if you don’t have a bank account and you’re using someone else’s account?
Thank you CRF,The Aptitude test practice questions are quite educating
Thanks for this article. What if there was an unexpected call, although the only solution is to turn on the airplane mode but won’t be possible coz we would use our data connection for the test.
Set your do not disturb to restrict all calls and notification then you put it on when you want to do the test
Thank you CRF for this. I actually didn’t know about this before. With the help of God I will abide by these rules now that I know them.
I received this very information but I really don’t know how to go about it, Dear Shadrach,
We wish to inform you of a Change to the CRF Aptitude Test Date.
Please visit the Dashboard via bit.ly/CRFHome for more info.
Thank you for selecting me❤️❤️❤️
Can’t we use a calculator
Calculator is allowed, but it must not be on the same gadget you’re using for your test.
You can only use an external calculator and not one inbuilt in your phone
You can but not the calculator on your phone because the rule is that you don’t switch apps while writing your test as that results in disqualification.
Thank you please when is the aptitude test coming up, and how can we check to make sure our credentials are properly uploaded?
Feels good being here.
If you get disconnected as a result of network issues is there a chance to return to your test same way you left?
Most times it’s possible, but you have reload the page immediately..
It’s quite sad I was disqualified. I don’t know why though but I’ll really appreciate if I’m told how I faulted so I don’t repeat it again. I really had high hopes, registered my brother because I’m awaiting youth service.
Hello,
I’ve read the information above concerning the upcoming test. I’ve also learnt that incoming calls on mobile can serve as leaving the test screen, and this has some serious repercussions. Owing to the fact that to the mobile, calls can be inevitable. How do we manage this then?
Thank you.
Personally, I will look for that time within the stipulated 24 hours that I don’t normally recurve calls and write. Even if it is waking up as early as 4am, or even from 12am down
Do not receive calls at that time. Also end any incoming call
Yess👏
I wish everyone the best
This article helps alot. As we are approaching this exam, I wish everyone all the best

I am suppose to write my test today, but finding difficult to access it. how can I go about it?
The test was postponed by one week due to the public holidays. That means you’ll be writing your test next week Tuesday.
Test has been shifted to next week Ma’am
On the day of one’s exam, how much time does the person have to attend to the test, like will it be open to the person for the whole day??
