What You Need To Know About CRF Test
As the Aptitude Test days get nearer, our support lines have been inundated with multiple requests demanding to have more information regarding the upcoming Aptitude Tests. All registered applicants of the College Relief Fund are expected to note these for present and future purposes.
Note that there are aspects of the test and selection that we do not disclose to the public, this is to mitigate against applicants attempting to cheat the system.
Thereby, this post is to help answer most of the questions you may have.
ABOUT THE TEST:
The Aptitude Test for the College Relief Fund is an online test, accessible via most modern browsers with the proper accessibility permissions. We recommend Google Chrome or Firefox for Mobile.
The test is 20munites long and contains a total of 40 questions pulled from 4 of 5 test categories (Use of English, Quantitative Reasoning, Current affairs, General knowledge and the Naira & Sense Series).
The Aptitude Test is an e-proctored examination that utilizes various open-source and proprietary software to detect and punish cheaters.
1. USE OF CALCULATORS
The use of a Calculator is allowed. However, it must be a separate calculator, not an app on a phone.
2. LEAVING THE TEST SCREEN
Leaving the Test Screen is strictly prohibited. This may lead to Zero Scores.
To be more concise, here are actions that count as leaving a test screen:
On a Computer
• Moving the cursor outside the test window or screen (if utilizing multiple screens).
• Leaving the Test Tab on the browser.
• Having an overlayed application over the test screen, including OSK.
On a Mobile
• An incoming call counts as leaving the screen.
• Entering the Multi-App switcher
• Having an overlay app running over the screen, including Screenshot/Screen recorders, floating icons and music popups.
• Using night-mood / screen-protection apps that deem the mobile phone screen.
3. DEVICE ACCESS
The test screen uses some of your device hardware/software logs as part of monitoring. This may include the microphone, camera, location and other data points necessary for an e-proctored examination.
Your browser may request manual approval for additional access. Please ensure to click “Allow” or “Yes”. If your browser fails to gain access, the test may cancel with Zero Score or proceed with warnings depending on the instant circumstances.
4. MULTIPLE DEVICES DURING THE TEST
Please ensure you are alone during the test without access to multiple devices, or individuals with multiple devices. Note that searching for test answers online is prohibited.
5. TEST TIMING / SUBMISSION
The test is scheduled to automatically submit upon exhausting the allotted time. However, we strongly advise you to submit your test manually before that time. Depending on network conditions, your test time may show more than 20munites, this reflects the time of starting the test and the time until your browser connected back to the server to signify test completion and log submission. Too many activities indicative of malpractice will significantly increase the size of the logs to be uploaded along with your test answers.
6. TEST RESULTS
Ideally, test results should be immediate. However, we usually delay test results to enable us to carry out some preliminary checks on submitted answers and logs before publication.
ABOUT FINAL SELECTION
As has been started at the point of enrollment, the College Relief Fund does not guarantee a candidate will be selected at the end of the application process.
The final selection of candidates for the College Relief Fund will consider all information provided since Registration, Enrollment and Document Verification, combined with test results in a point-based system graded internally.
All information provided by candidates is thoroughly vetted by our network of Document Verifiers across the country. Discrepancies in details, including names on the portal, documents and bank accounts may disqualify candidates.
For this batch, there is no guaranteed cutoff mark. However, higher test scores play a role in improving the overall points of a candidate.
To mitigate against applicants attempting to cheat the system, the point system is only available to funding partners as part of our transparency and accountability commitment.
A list of candidates for disbursement will be announced online, with redacted details for privacy.
