Disbursement FAQs for Applicants
As we finalize the beneficiary list for the College Relief Fund, we understand that you may have questions about the disbursement process.
Also, there have been reports of some persons trying to contact applicants regarding influencing the outcome of the scholarship shortlist.
To this regard, here are answers to some of the most frequently asked questions and some clarifications:
Q: How are successful candidates supposed to get the disbursement scholarship grant?
A: Applicants selected in this batch will have their scholarship amounts deposited directly into their bank accounts. It’s crucial that the account name matches the name on their profile, application, and documents submitted during the Document Verification process.
Q: Are they going to be asked for their account details?
A: Yes, successful applicants will be prompted to enter their bank details on their Dashboard. Notifications to do so may be sent via email or SMS. To ensure you don’t miss any important communication, mark emails from the College Relief Fund as important.
How to mark an email as important in Gmail:
- Open the email from College Relief Fund.
- Click on the three dots at the top-right corner of the email.
- Select “Mark as important.”
Additionally, always check your DASHBOARD for any updates.
Q: Will College Relief Fund call me?
A: In rare cases, we may contact applicants by phone to follow up on any outstanding gaps in their documents, account, or academic records. If you receive a call, it will be to clarify or verify information you have already provided. Also all calls will be from our official line as stated in the Contact Page.
Q: Will I be asked to make payment?
A: NO! The College Relief Fund or its agents will NEVER ask you to make payments for any services.
Although applicants were required to pay for Document Verification in the first batch in 2020, all payments were refunded, and the CRF has since not and will never ask for any payment.
NOTE: Never pay anyone who claims they can influence the CRF outcome in your favor.
Q: Does CRF need my ATM Card Details?
A: NO! The CRF will never ask for your ATM Card details, passwords, OTP, BVN, or NIN. Protect your sensitive information and report any suspicious requests immediately.
Q: What is the minimum test percentage for the College Relief Scholarship?
A: The College Relief Fund does not have a specific cutoff mark based solely on the Aptitude Test. However in this batch, candidates with higher scores (above 70%) have a better chance of selection. The overall score considers multiple metrics, including academic performance, course of study, past performance in the College Relief Fund, and other details verified by our document verification team.
Q: I scored XX percentage in the Aptitude Test, do I have a chance?
A: Yes. Even if your test score is lower, you still have a chance. The selection process is holistic and considers various factors beyond just the test scores.
